When Golden autumn decorates the Huangpu River, an art show is on stage. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Long March Triumph, Ms. Sun Ling of Shanghai University, who once taught in the Confucius Institute at WKU in America between 2014 and 2016, will hold the art exhibition of ecological aesthetics on Xinzha campus of Shanghai University on Nov, 26, 2016, the theme of which is concerned about the left-behind children in the past revolutionary zones.
Whether academics is from the south or from the north, it is unified; whether we live in the east sea or the west sea, human race share the same mentality. The exhibition is focused on the photographical works and some abstract art works during her stay in America, and she tries to express her perception of life with the help of different art styles. "A flower is a world and a leaf is a Bodhi." Inspirations of the world and art, will appear on branches of trees and on flowers and leaves, which exist in our secular life; the blossoms of art created from spiritual tremble bloom on tiny space and on light and shade; the colors and lines will arouse people’s beauty and kindness existing in the depth of our human nature. The art practice in America is to realize her initiative of restoring traditional aesthetics. The creative style combining western art with oriental art elements, does not aim to rebel to pursue the elegant sound of flowing water from high mountains, but aim to arouse people’s art percipience and appreciation towards life.
Let art ignite life and make life respect art. All the donations collected from this art exhibition will be endowed to The Post-graduate Teaching Group of Shanghai University, so as to be used to improve education of ecological aesthetics for the left-behind children in the past revolutionary zones. Hopefully the art initiative kept in her mind for many years will come true.
